Study Skills Tutor (Autism Spectrum Condition)

£30.00 per hour

Qualified applicants are required nationwide to provide specialist one-to-one study skills support to students with an autism spectrum condition studying in higher education.

The purpose of the role is to work with students providing strategies to develop the study skills required when studying in a higher education context. This includes skills in acquiring, recalling, and retaining information in written and spoken language, and strategies to develop memory, organisation, attention and numeracy skills.

Applicants must have:
A degree (any subject) and;
A teaching qualification (Level 5 or above. Level 4 may also be considered) and;
Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules:

  • Understanding autism
  • Autism and communication
  • Autism and sensory experience
  • Autism, stress and anxiety
  • Autism: supporting families
  • Autism and Girls


A relevant qualification. One of the following;
  • A degree in Autism
  • A Post Graduate Certificate (PGC) in Autism/Asperger’s/Critical Disability focusing on autism
  • An MA/MEd/PhD in Education (Autism/Special Educational Needs and Disability/Critical Disability Studies focussing on autism)

A teaching qualification (Level 5 or above. Level 4 may also be considered) and;
National Autistic Society (NAS) Autism and Girls on-line course
